| A Note on Search Words |
| "Words" in a search |
- Words don't need to be complete, ex. "Amer" can be substituted for "Americana".
- Words can be in any combination of upper or lower case, ex. "AmER" or "AMERicaANA" is equivalent to the previous example.
- To search more than one word, you need to seperate the words by an "AND", "OR", or "NOT" statement (see next topic), unless you are searching for an exact phrase, ex. "Floral design in the interior of an", where each word should be a complete word.
|
| Understanding "AND", "OR", and "NOT" statements |
| "AND" (upper/lower case doesn't matter) |
- When "and" is inserted in a search, ex. "Americana and Floral", the search displays results that do contain both the words "Americana" and "Floral".
- You can use as many "AND" statements as you wish, but you may not use both "AND" and "OR" statements together.
- The character "*" can be substituted for the word "AND", no spaces between the words are needed if the character is used.
|
| "OR" (upper/lower case doesn't matter) |
- When "Or" is inserted in a search, ex. "Americana OR Floral", the search displays results that as if you searched both the words "Americana" and "Floral" seperately.
- You can use as many "OR" statements as you wish, but you may not use both "AND" and "OR" statments together.
- The character "+" can be substituted for the word "OR", no spaces between the words are needed if the character is used.
|
| "NOT" (upper/lower case doesn't matter) |
- "NOT" statements(s) must be at the end of any search (unless your only using nots, ex. "NOT Amer NOT Ivy" is OK, "Amer NOT Ivy NOT Red" is OK, but "Amer NOT Ivy AND Red" is not ok).
- When "not" is inserted in a search, ex. "Americana OR Floral NOT yellow NOT black", the search displays results that as if you searched both the words "Americana" and "Floral" seperately, yet excludes anything containing "black" and any result containg "yellow".
- You can use as many "NOT" statements as you wish using either "AND" or "OR" statments together.
- The character "!" can be substituted for the word "AND", no spaces between the words are needed if the character is used.
|
| A Note on Product Codes/Item numbers |
| Product Codes and Item Numbers |
- Product Codes and Item Numbers in a search are put in just like words in a search.
- They can also be mixed in with a normal words and statements, ex. "Floral OR Amer NOT #1090MXD NOT #ADKLAAFK" or "#1090MXD or ADKLAAFK or A183GGDF or ARRW321".
- If the Codes were related you could search for part of a Product Code, for instance the search "#109 or AA3", might display items with product codes: #109323, #109776, #109887, AA3423, AA32, AA3123, #2109, B3AA3.
